I didn’t fall off the planet

I can’t believe it has been a year to date since I left for Australia. Holy shit. WHAT?! How did that even happen? What the fuck time?!! Well what a year it has been…its like New Years in July! I have been so many places and done so many things (and by things I mean boys. KIDDING. sort of). In the last seven months I have had a very merry sick-mas as I dubbed it, started my last semester of college (for now), saw WALK OFF THE EARTH…can’t stress that one enough, swam in Dolphin Stadium at SeaWorld (didn’t get the job but I’ll try again next year), threw up after a concert…and I was doing so well dammit!, saw Ed SheeranĂ feel free to marry me, GRADUATED, got awkwardly dismissed from a job that I apparently didn’t have but worked for the place for 5 years, started working as a waterfront lifeguard and I’m the boss bitch, finally made it back to the ocean..not nearly the same as Surfers Paradise, and World Cup anyone?! I want to bake cupcakes for Tim Howard and Brazil...that game was rough…

The last little bit of my ADVENTURE

So I left the Gold Coast…I didn’t want to but unfortunately my time was up there. And unfortunate it was indeed. Lets talk about the weather, in Gold Coast it was beautiful summer…in Sydney it was not. Rain. Rain. And you guessed it. Rain. That however did not deter me from seeing the Opera House as soon as I found my hostel and put all my shit down. And for the next four days I walked all over that city! I went to the Opera House every day…probably because it was amazing and beautiful despite the rain. Now it didn’t rain everyday but when it wasn’t raining it was cold, as in when I went to Bondi Beach I was wearing my jeans and a sweatshirt and I was still freezing. Sydney was everything that I imagined it would be even if I couldn’t find P. Sherman or 42 Wallaby Way! Melbourne! What a city! Of course I was told it would be cold there and after Sydney I was prepared…but weather is funny so I showed up ready for the cold and I walked strait into a lovely heat wave. What th…

Can it really be my last day in Gold Coast?

Nope, I do not accept this…so I will tell you about my latest trip. I feel as though my trip up to the Whitsunday Islands can only be described as a real life version of Survivor; in which at some points I was desperately seeking water and struggling to not die from a combination of the 3 S’s (sun, sweat, and sleepiness), but I also got to snorkel the reef and meet some wonderful people. Even though at times I wish I would have been kicked off the island, it was something I had to experience before I left…we can’t all have great stories…life is fair that way. Last Monday I got to wake up at the glorious hour of 4am and go to the airport looking like a sweatpants troll. I’m not sure what it is but I do not trust anyone who goes to the airport at 5am wearing skinny jeans and high heals…its not normal. Once at the airport we had to wait for our flight and I was so tired coffee was a must, what was not a must was the panic attack that I had on the plane. Now I didn’t go all colonial woman…

{Insert Joke Here}

Do I really have to come home? Finals are done and we are on the down downhill. My hair is still pink and I’m not ready to leave. I love it here. Don’t get me wrong I love home but this has been the best experience. How about everyone else just pick up and move here so I don’t have to leave?! Either way I am leaving tomorrow for the Whitsunday Islands!!! I am so excited it feels like Christmas. Except I usually don’t get up at 4am on Christmas…or any day for that matter because 4am is probably my least favorite time (everyone should watch the TED talk about the 4am mystery because it is not only educational but also hilarious). Besides finishing school, this week was full of goodbyes. I just had to shut down the feels department of my brain (heart?) or it would have been too sad! At the apartment we had a going away party, which featured an AMAZING chocolate cake (fat kid heaven). I guess the good thing about everyone leaving is that the next time I get to go see them, they will be in…

I'm a lazy blogger

Have I really not written for a week?! I sincerely wish it were due to me having no time to write amidst my epic adventures. Sadly that is not the case. I have been doing a lot of nothing… lounging in my pajamas, semi-studying, taking finals, watching movies, and going out on a date. Oh you caught that last one did you? Yep. Couldn’t believe it either. Before I give out the juicy details I first must bore your minds out. I’m so thoughtful that way. So this last week I had three of my four finals and because I am a really good student I start studying for them mere hours before they are set to take place. Responsibility should have been my middle name. McKenzie…what is that? I think my finals went fairly well; I’m still baffled by the Australian grading system so who knows! Besides school and finally being done with riding my bike there everyday (I 100% miss my car), laying out by the pool and working on my tan has just been awful…NOT. In more important news we have adopted…

Halloween and Hangovers

Story of my life…once a year. EVERY YEAR! I have been so excited for Halloween all week for 1. CANDY and 2. I was going to dress up like the little mermaid! (Which coincidently was what my 4-year-old cousin was also going to be. Great minds). So yesterday despite my enthusiasm I proceeded to do nothing all day (theme of my life) until it was time to get ready to entertain in which I was still getting ready when people started to arrive. I was so excited to be Ariel I even brushed my hair with a fork! Everyone came over and of course Oscar and I were the only non-dead, once a princess always a princess, and my goodness I was literally afraid of some of my friends! So we got our drink on and played a game where it was pertinent to deceive. That was SO not happening given my state of drunkenness! After the little house party gets together we hit the town mainly because of my persistence and need to show off my adorable costume. I was feeling pretty fierce as I often do afte…
